After completing this course, you will be able to

• Identify key anatomical structures of the female reproductive system on ultrasound
• Select the appropriate ultrasound probe for first trimester pregnancy evaluation based on clinical conditions and gestational age
• Select the most appropriate technique for determining gestational age in first trimester pregnancy
• Define a definitive intrauterine pregnancy, nonviable pregnancy, indeterminate pregnancy, and ectopic pregnancy on ultrasound
• Use M-mode ultrasound to measure fetal heart rate and determine if it falls within the normal range
• Discuss the significance of findings when evaluating for intrauterine or ectopic pregnancy
